It will be great to see that extra output delivered into such an elevated price and strong outlook. Futures are looking quite steady out into 2024, and practically there are new coal plants opening every other day around the world. Almost. Demand isn't going anywhere, particularly given the leadtimes for nuclear or other alternatives. For all the speeches from BoJo, Biden and others, they haven't actually done anything(*) to address the systemic issues relating to energy.
Hopefully we have a few more reporting cycles of these outsized gains, an SP that reflects, and dividends to match - before the coal price normalises.
*-Anything to help the problems to be resolved. Plenty has been done to exacerbate the issues.
