My thoughts on this (and I don't know the inner works of investment banking and cap raisings) is that part of negotiating the 'monster deal' included Buddy having access to sufficient capital to deliver on their side of the bargain eg hardware stock, support resources etc
In order to close the deal quickly, they needed to raise the funds fast and that is the reason why us retail investors didn't get a look in, because the process takes too long. They could also lose weeks waiting for the 'right' moment to raise the money. Much of the recent rise in the share price might be in anticipation of this worldwide deal being successful anyway.
I'll take some dilution for $ in the bank and faster speed and better scale. Means we'll also get to share buybacks quicker too if it succeeds long term.
