I certainly wasn't expecting it (I doubt Max was either). His remuneration seemed to be heavily weighted towards delivering the Elan project milestones, so its odd he departs after the first hurdle.

If I were to guess, I suspect our new man is in there to pitch Elan to the highest bidder. Risky if there isn't anyone willing to bid. Time will tell.
