I had a very quick look before work this morning to see if any trials registered on clinical trials.gov for things that would be relevant to CDX tech (it all would be lol).

The below one is on patients with Abdominal Aortic Anuerysm (AAA) & monitoring of patients over 5 years that continued to smoke or IQOS or cessation, but this one started a number of years ago. So I don’t think so, but if you look at the secondary endpoints, plus arterial pressures would be a factor in worsening AAA, measurements & rupture.

So I don’t want to pass any kind of comment on whether IQOS is more beneficial than traditional cigarettes, we all know complete cessation is better, but some don’t want to or won’t give up smoking. So I guess they are looking at whether this does less damage for these people. Interesting the 2021 newer generation product.

It’s a major tobacco company, at first I was thinking why DF are they doing clinical trials when we know cigarettes are harmful…but this is why.

What is least harmful for smokers who don’t want to give up & possibly even can this be a gateway for cessation? Possibly a comparison to vapes also.

No illusions there, a tobacco company. If you look at where this latest generation of IQOS is available, I’m guessing they will need to do an international trial & like post market drugs, maybe ongoing. Please read that just to look into this a little further.

If you look at all the primary & secondary endpoints in the AAA study, it’s possible to see why they would be looking at all available tech for cardiovascular measurements that are more available now.

Syneos & IQVIA are the most common International CRO’s on multiple Big Pharma trials that we do, (I have nothing to do with cardiovascular trials or anything I am invested in, so no disclosures).

Just thought that may be encouraging to know that every little piece of equipment, every EMR or tech used are validated & calibrated & the next calibration date for equipment used in a clinical trial is also entered.
