Another spin on it could be that ... the consideration paid for the land may be in the form of res shares. Is it possible that res could issue shares as payment for such a transaction? Shares not to be issued until transfer completes ie next year.

Is it possible that the price is $?mil worth of stock at shareprice on the date of exercise of the put ( ie our current low price). This theory would mean that res could buy the rights at low face value now (ie $5mil worth of stock) and without being out of pocket, but since our sp is extremely low at exercise of put, and is likely to appreciate, Exxaro have the potential to make a tidy profit. A bit confusing but I hope you get what I mean?

This would not materially affect our current cash situation...

And is just another conspiracy theory!

Any way you look at it Res management know what they are doing, just gotta have faith.
