One point of difference between the DEG and ARV / Novo Wits 2.0 gold finds is the setting in which the conglom has been found.
DEG's conglom has essentially been found ABOVE the surrounding terrain, in the slope of a modest hill. It would appear the conglom runs through the hill and we can visualise the amount of basalt that will need to be lopped off to access the conglom.
ARV / Novo' conglom (correct me if I'm wrong here) seems to start at or near surface, then dip to deeper levels. There is talk of underground mining for where it is eventually inaccessable by open cut means.
Size and grade, of course, are the paramount considerations, but, geez, DEG's ground looks a helluva lot easier to exploit over the medium to longer term.
