You could of course complain to ASIC, but all you get is "your emailed was received" from a computer and nothing will happen after that. I am speaking from experience. I was fined $75 for a couple of days late paying my yearly fee just last week; they are very good at getting easy money from good citizens.
If there is a chance that something will happen, then I might as well hang on to the shares, as they are worth nothing to sell in any case.
