Great Post; my concerns were based on the lack of water per-se, from all sources (initial supply), mainly as the South is seriously/currently Rainfall Deficient. Most cities even in the north & south are still ok, it's the Rural Sector t hat is facing the brunt of it, no different to our Aussie Farmers in times of severe drought.
Sadly most of the Indian farmers rely only on the rains/monsoons to top up the dams or ponds (as they call it) and recharge the river system & ground water. Let's hope their forecast for the coming monsoons (which are predicted to be Normal this year) will help these poor guys as the Ground Water which is also getting Lower by the year, affecting all.
The whole country has a long way to go connecting the rivers & canals and properly use the abundant water sources they have been blessed with. They can start by primarily getting rid of the pollutants that freely flow into the best river systems of the world with raw sewage, factory waste/chemicals, plastics etc etc.
The Best Canals used for irrigation that flow well to date are all a legacy of the British, built 100+ years ago.
Lets hope NSL have a Deep Bore Well (at least 12 inches in dia) with a good supply of water as there would be no town or piped water in that neck of the woods. Though I may be wrong.
Someone once posted that they had a friend working there, maybe he could confirm the water source as a matter of Interest?
All that said, I'm also in line to toast the Bight Future of NSL when we finally leave the platform...............

Vrall1 this is a question i posed to Sean some time ago. Answer was yes it is bore water and the bore from memory which is sketchy is some 200mtrs deep or more. Hence why the farms cant get to it as it is too expensive for them to get down that far.
