I did like the point dr Soucek made in one write up, something along the lines that there is much progress being made with immunology and cancer as we have heared recently. Her point was that many of these approaches need to be specifically formulated or engineered for each patient, thus making them complex and expensive. Examples being harvesting a patients t cells then engineering them to hunt cancer cells and putting them back in. Her point with myc inhibition is it can be used across the board without being targetted specifically for each patient. A good point i thought.

While Myc inhibition is recognized as an invaluable therapeutic strategy, a Myc inhibitor has yet to become clinically available. Omomyc constitutes the most direct and specific Myc inhibitor available to date and has proven to be effective against several types of tumors independently of their mutational status, without evidence of any resistance to it even after long term treatment, and causing only very mild and reversible side effects in normal tissues. Hence, while personalized therapies tend to atomize the oncology market by being applicable to specific subsets of the patient population, our approach has the potential to treat all cancer patients, regardless of their mutational status.
