The report doesn't mention the size of the fund and I didn't see it on the website. For all I know it could be less than some HC punters have available to punt!
I would find it somewhat odd if he has taken (or been offered) a board position with a holding that is not substantial or if he doesn't plan to hold long term. The EI website also says they offer consulting services, so I suspect he is still trying to build meaningful FUM despite having commenced in 2017 or earlier. Perhaps this is a consulting gig to generate some cash flow.
But as far as his holding in the Dragonfly Fund is concerned, it seems this appointment would only serve to place unnecessary restrictions on his ability to trade his position (access to non-public info, trading restrictions/blackouts, etc.).
So perhaps it's safe to assume he intends the DF to build a substantial position if it hasn't already and the DF is a genuine long-term holder?
