SGQ (ASX) Ann: New Discovery of Nickel-Copper Sulphides at Mt Alexander

Tbirdsrgo good afternoon and thank you for posting the MineLife extract.

In order to elaborate on this, I would like to emphasise the importance in the extract regarding the distribution of sulphides in this field to date and, particularly as highlighted in Gold Bugs Bunny’s post #52468235 (by the way, good to read you again Bugs Bunny). I also want to congratulate the numerous posters who have over the years contributed to the understanding of this camp’s technical setting and modus operandi of the exploration programmes over the years.

In particular posters like Tradealot, pow4ade mulac1, Gold Bunny, Interested Onlooker, Corker, kh1961, OT1961, McQuade, ozblue, Trapper, 2011doogs88, and many more. I can go on and fill a page of excellent contributors to this list and I apologise for not mentioning you specifically. The point I am trying to make is that this company has attracted much interest through dialogue because of the technical success and discoveries in this field over the past 10 years or so.

By exploration standards, the Junior St George Mining, commands quite a large tenement area in what is proving to be a good geological address. Sulphide mineralisation is very widespread over large swathes of these tenements, and as we know it is related and associated with ultramafic and mafic intrusives into basement rocks which in this region of the Yilgarn comprise granites, acid and other types of volcanics and sediments.

Also from what we know, these ultramafic and mafic intrusives have originated in deep magma chambers and infiltrated passages comprising a variety of structural deformities such as faults, in some cases unconformities, laccoliths etc. this magmatic material ultimately cools and freezes higher in the temperate intruded lithologies and consolidate as veins, dykes sills, tongues and pods of various shapes and sizes. These intrusives comprise hundreds if not thousands of cubic kilometers of magma.

The magmatic material comprises silicates, iron, sulphur and other elements including the economic and precious metals we are seeking, the latter commonly present in minor quantities compared to the silicates and are introduced in liquid or fluid and gaseous form as part of the magmatic material. Differentiation and segregation of these elements takes place as the intrusive settles in its passageways by cooling.

As metals are heavy in this soup they will gravitate to the bottom of their confined space or traps within the structure and accumulate in massive form, they will keep accumulating as long as the passages remain open and the temperature gradient and chemical conditions remain conducive for gravitational accumulation.

Some metals will flow into small fractures as they flow downwards and will saturate these fractures to form a laceworks pattern of interconnected veins or, as isolated veins where no connectivity takes place. Higher up or towards the margins of these intrusives, droplets of metallic sulphides begin this entire journey by precipitation and consolidation from a gaseous and fluids phase.

Here droplets of metals form from the cooling of the gaseous fluid phase and freeze in the silicate mass to become suspended in a salt and pepper distribution pattern, commonly referred to as a Halo of sulphide mineralisation around an economic ore body.

The entire process is therefore one of cooling of the magma, precipitation and suspension by the process of gravity, accumulation in a favorable environment, and finally consolidation. The log that was presented in the company release of 14/04/2021 shows this progression I so crudely described, and to the experts in our readers I apologise for describing it in lay terms.

But this picture only explains the piercing of a 10m section of mineralisation in MAD199 which formed at the base of an approximately 13m thick northerly dipping ultramafic structure that intrudes along a roughly EW structure going through the Cathedrals Belt. this means that most of the intrusive here is mineralised, what its lateral extent along strike of the structure on either side of this intersection remains to be seen.

It might have been wise to attempt to penetrate the structure 50m and 100m below the intercept in MAD199 with a couple of wedge directional holes before moving from the site, that would have given us some confidence regarding dip continuity of the mineralisation and perhaps another couple of holes either side of MAD199 to determine continuity along strike. The next hole to test the structure is 500m to the west and as we understand it is currently in progress.

The EM anomalies currently being tested are compelling indeed. Success in this hole -MAD200- would hopefully justify the procuring of another one or two drilling rigs to thoroughly and quickly test the 500m interval between MAD199 and MAD200 and beyond towards West End and the Ida Fault structure.

We are still testing a very shallow portion of what this field could or will throw up. We still are to learn much about the size of the magma chamber/s its strength and the fractures it generated and invaded. Time will tell.

Finally, before I close this what seems like a long-winded missive, I want to thank SandyC for all the excellent work and positive attitude that he displayed over the years but particularly during the last 12 months. With respect to @binwood, this SGQ project is very big and challenging technically and financially, but is one that is managed by limited resources with excellent qualified people. Yes, we do have our differences of opinion,

We bitch and moan at times but it is all directed towards the advancement and benefit of all who have shown patience and understanding of the project. It is not about making quick bucks over the last two years. I and most long-term followers of this company sincerely believe that the bucks will come but they will not be quick, there is a tremendous amount of work to be done in this field and I would suggest you familiarise yourself with its history by going over the reports and many of the excellent posts over the last 8 or 10 years to understand what GSQ is aiming for and where SandyC and many of the posters come from with their philosophies on this project.

It remains for me to wish you well with your journey in SGQ. It is sincere with its goals.
