GLN would be wasting their time if brine under a volcanic dome was inaccessible. Domes are like umbrellas narrowing sharply towards the base, as I understand it. Also, a fellow listed company might not want to takeover LKE but a vertical integrator might. As for ‘why would a neighbour takeover if they can just drain the same aquifer’ it’s not as easy as that because of the scale of the resource which essentially means that a neighbour can’t drain LKE’s aquifers due to water replacement. It’s more about numbers of wells and product pumped, so it seems.
