Perhaps the ones you're referring to went across a slacker's desk at ASX?? Like any job... not everyone who holds a position does a good job. The best solution for ASX in these situations is to blame the source lol.
More importantly, some of those early gold holes' assays must just about be ready to drop as a Price Sensitive Announcement... 7 weeks now since commencement of drilling so first holes have possibly been in the lab for 6 weeks??
