Exactly - maybe I'm not as cynical as you but this announcement seems to be saying "Look - we are still an explorer and there is still potential to add a lot of tonnes of ore". So its an admission that although there is nothing really wrong with the existing ore bodies they are going to find more ore, some nice clean simple high grade Chalcopyrite Cu sulphides would be ideal to give the economics a kick in the pants and get the project going, the startup and capital costs are huge due to the multi metal complexity so adding high grade tonnes is probably worth a shot, unfortunately a lot of these targets are even deeper and will need to be a discovery on the scale of a Mt Isa and be eye watering grades to move the dial on the economics of the project. What they actually need is something super high grade at shallow open-pittable depth along strike rather than something big and deep but at underground mine only depths.

Could also be that with the met drilling nearly complete they want to hang onto at least one rig to maintain momentum and give them some options, if they lose all their rigs they will never get another drill rig until next year.
