You wont get any argument from me on those views. Financial capacity is a pre qualification requirement on a lot of majors approved tenderer lists, you'd have to think NoD's been scrubbed from a few.
Unmanageable may be the key 'un' mentioned above - and this gets back to the huge loss of exec. over 3 or so years. Good guys leave for a reason.
So what do you do if you're NoD [1] sell off certain businesses to simplify the risks [2] merge with another group [3] JV [4] raise more capital (to paydown debt, sure up BS or buy another business) [5] baby step back to health ... find an iron ore tenement !
Cant think of too many others.
