I thought i had been round the traps, but in Africa in the 50/60's takes the cake.
There is a book written by Brian Lloyd and Howard Combes called Gold at Gaffneys Creek. Great historical read. Howard was the sparky at the A1 in the mid 70s.
Like the A1, i think Maldon holds very good potential. I dont know much about the history of the field but i know that Octagonal did some drilling, undergound development and some stoping. Reading between the lines of their old reports they expected 6g/t but got only 3g/t (certainly not high enough for a small tonnage undergound mine) and i believe they may have mined a parallel lode rather than the main one, i know the KAU geos are more switched on compared to the Octagonal geo.
I might go to the AGM on the 23rd see if any words of wisdom are forthcoming.
