Gold miner Spartan Resources jumps on new discovery at Western Australia project

** Australian gold miner Spartan Resources SPR.AX jumps as much as 13% to A$0.650, marking its best intraday pct gain since March 4
** SPR at its highest level since April 9; top gainer in the ASX All Ordinaries index .AORD
** SPR trading 9.6% higher at A$0.630 as at 0326 GMT
** Says discovered a new high-grade gold deposit at its Dalgaranga gold project in Western Australia
** More than 6 mln shares change hands vs the 30-day average of 4.3 mln shares
** SPR shares up 21.2% so far this year
