For a bit of fun, have a look at where NST (hands down my favorite ASX listed company - they've made me a fair stack in the last 5 yrs) were at in July 2010.
They had just come out of suspension whilst waiting to acquire a working gold mine. They purchased the Paulsens mine at that time. The MC was $12m (SP was around 6c) and they were just entering production. Through their genius MD, Bill Beament, they increased production, increased resource through exploration and acquired other mines during dips in the gold price. Amazing company.
By Oct-13, they hit a MC of $300m; and now they've cracked $3 with a MC of nearly $2B.
Obviously, that's an extreme example but if you have a solid resource and smart management, $100m really is super achievable.
