Completely agree I'm a FA and TA person, i like to use both as I think you can't have one without the other. Don't agree so much though on the TA not being right, but if there's a bad announcement after it was trending well on the chart then no the TA won't show you that, TA can only tell you what's happened in the present and the past and can help be an indicator of the trends, combine that with really good fundamentals and you have a great stock. Every stock is different though. TA helps with entry and exits and setting targets and the FA tells you why and the reasoning. At least that's my view.
