What I don't understand is why the majors have been waiting so long to make a move (unless Kerry Stokes has privately told the others that IOH is not on the market).
Should Hanlong succeed it taking over SDL, then I imagine it may provide a catalyst for further consolidation in the iron ore mining sector, and IOH would be a hot target.
