Why ?? I don't know ....but could you use your obvious technical skills to draw the location of the pegmatite dykes identified in SBDD004 ( 205-214M AND 262-272 M) on a reproduction of the diagram in your post .
That may provide a possible clue as to why our next hole is located where proposed ......and also as to whether the pegmatite appears to be mineralised to those that have seen the core ???

Conducting drilling exploration like this is outside of the norm so even with extensive expertise in the industry, they may not have done it before. Plus techniques/technologies change and improve over time so some things in drilling may be easier to do these days than 20-odd years ago (though others seem a lot more difficult..). Geo's typically don't like drilling holes that don't intersect the horizon of interest so it may be hard to convince one that this is a great way to explore, albeit maybe initially at a higher cost.
