SoulPatts is not known for aggressive accounting. So I've taken the write up at face value.
As for the price, makes sense the equity raise was done at a discount. Maybe the question is the size of the discount?
As for Bengalla vs Malabar. They bought Bengalla back in 2015 and 2018, back when thermal was dead. It was really only started printing cash from 2021.
With all the inflation in recent years and met coal stronger than thermal coal, good assets like Malabar just cost more in 2024.
No horse in this race. Just thought the comparison was really unfair on NHC.
