If they were suddenly dropping the ball on lithium for a focus on gold, sure - but they aren't, so personally I agree with Kiwi's optimism.

Management have put together a viable project but the conditions aren't quite right for us yet and there's still a ways to go before we get everything lined up and are ready break ground. Why not use the (gold) skills/knowledge they have in the meantime to start shoring up an asset we already own? It's not an onerous undertaking (financially or otherwise) and it may reveal a higher worth which we can sell off for more money or even investigate further with a JV or even on our own once profits start accumulating from the lithium sales. Yes, there's the potential we wont uncover anything worth investigating further - but that's the nature of exploration. If it's a disappointment, we might see a SP dip, but we have a clear pathway forward with the lithium so I'm not that concerned. I appreciate management's attempt to value-add and personally feel a little more confidence in them as a result.

In contrast, if management weren't doing anything but sitting around waiting on diamond drill results for the next DFS, we/you/someone would be whinging about that instead.
