I am of the same opinion. I prefer to stick to Western customers, but I think this play is purely to show that the over supply narrative is a lot of hot air. Selling to the Chinese this one off short term supply, put that to rest. It also shows that the Chinese still demand quality spod and the race to the bottom will not hold for too long. Africa supplies are riddled with impurities and sovereign risks. Long term supply can never be relied on from there and the Chinese know this. While cheap batteries are a must for the EV revolution so that larger part of the world population can start buying them, but also for home storage. LIT is always the better product than Salt for this, it comes down to price.
If 6% Spod settles close to $2k, which I think will be reached. LTR will be valued nearly twice to what the DFS showed, which was at $1.3k for spod about the NPV of $4.5b, I believe. This should put the SP then somewhere north of $3.
