Asculpeous suspects that it because of the nature of spodumene finds .Pegmatites tend to run deep.However it is the width and whether there is stacking of multiple pegmatites that will contribute to economic mineable resources.

These questions of greater import are answered by the obliques drills often done initially by auger or RAB rather than blowing a lot of funds on DDs.

Your blue line looks reasonable using post hoc analysis (viz looks sensible once the other intersections have been mapped)

No doubt your next question will be "well why did they send those initial drills in the directions they did?".Again Asc. thinks in terms of geology 101 that pegmatites occur in swarms with an orientation based on surface occurrences and it is the skill and experience of the geologist who then bases the drill pattern on these.Not sure if geophysics helps a great deal with pegmatites.
