WRT to the purchase of the Alevo kit in the fire sale.
It's not about $100 or $50 million of kit for $5 million.
It's not about what a great deal.
It's more about why did it go for such a price?
By the way, if it sold for $5 million, then by definition it is worth $5 million, not 50 or 200 or whatever.
But why did it go at such a price?
Obsolete?
Heavily customised so useless to others?
Saturated market?
Very very high risk business sector?
I bet there are some clever buyers out there who had a close look. Maybe to add to their existing Gigafactory?
Or as a cottage industry to produce the less attractive prismatic designs?
Already the purchase seems to have impacted on IM3 plans. No more talk of cylindrical format (maybe in future).
