Not necessarily, AFS didn't cost anywhere near that.
Buy a distressed businesses with high overheads, strip out all the central adnin costs , use SVR existing channels & grow the business over 3 years & you could easily double the investment.
$50m would buy a stand alone business generating $5m from day 1 without any synergies or growth.
Alternatively SVR could just buy another loan book with $5m & collect all the debt & generate a far batter return than a buyback.
