franking credits are worth an additional 71c AUD to the implied price of 29.27, so it's basically $29.98 using 0.665 as an exchange rate. $30.02 if you use this mornings rate. Will be some good arbs out there for serious punters as it will have to trade at a discount to the grossed up franked value (currently $30)
Chance of Newmont rallying now the deal is in the bag, also after GDX and Newmont were both sold down 5.5%,in the last 5 days I think we are due a rally, in particular North American gold stocks. Weigh all that up against the pain of selling a US listed stock (fx fees). My other motivation for holding is to defer realizing winners to the next financial year given it's only 45 days away as I get to hold onto my coin a little longer
