I am in US so this does not apply to me (am building my NEM position having sold NCM at 17.75US earlier in the year; bot NEM at US35.80 today).. anyway.. not only do you have to fill out the form for the 15% rate, the way I understand it you could also be taxed on SALES OF STOCK at 30%? if you don't get the form in.
This confused me, what happens to short term holders in AUS who buy and flip a few weeks later for a nice gain?? anyway, here is a site I found that explains the FORM etc. W-8BEN (commsec.com.au)
(as a 5yr NCM holder I was sorry to see this core holding for me go, but we should do well in NCM and their div policy is much more aggressive and shareholder friendly for good payouts over US1400 gold price!) or just chuck it all and buy NST which I view as quality!! lol. GLTA. Bea
