Netflix is simply going off tap, causing considerable headaches for those who are responsible for the procurement of wholesale bandwidth. I have heard rumours of Netflix currently accounting for up to 50% of all back haul traffic.
With the incredibly slim margins in the telco space, tech like this could go a long way.
