Thats why i used the word coaching previously.
IMO wordsmiths are not what we want so i agree with you.
Its working out what the best course of action is and where to get the best advice. I am not sure that they are spending enough time, thinking it through and hence heading in the right direction. Its only the financial and register management issues that IMO are the boards distinct weaknesses. There must be experts out there who can advise/coach them in these areas.
