CaptainBarnacles and bubsmark, yes well we all predicted a downgrade but through the market 2day, the market appears to have predicted it as well because the NHF SP has not been sold off too much, well not yet, indicating that a lot of folk had already factored this into the NHF SP and why the NHF SP was languishing in the mid 600s.

Do not expect it to go $5.50 AUD because that was the April fools day joke of last year prior to the Australian General Election of 2019 but let's see.

All this market talk that the Morrison Government will abolish the medicare levy surcharge for not having health insurance for middle and high income earners is highly possible in the May budget, and will obviously cut into NHF future earnings and future policyholder numbers.

However, Governments always try and hold onto their surcharges and favor more obvious measures like reducing the top marginal tax rate in Budgets so the Government still has to actually abolish the medicare levy surcharge for middle and high income earners not taking up health insurance for NHF and MPL to be this low in SP IMHO but pls DYOR.
