On reflection, I was just regurgitating something I was taught at uni without taking the time to think it through myself. They taught us from a US text book and the primary aim was tax avoidance.
I recently dusted off the old text book. The more I read the more I felt sick to be honest. Enormous amounts of human creativity and endeavour in the noble pursuit of reducing a companies tax "burden" to the community.
What did JFK say? - "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
