Not quite awesome enough to know the Indonesian government banned nickel ore exports for the specific purpose of stimulating processing domestically.
So the clown needs to catch up and realise that upgrading ore to nickel matte is exactly the outcome planned and known by everyone involved in nickel mining.
There hasn't been a massive increase in nickel produced, it's just being processed in a difference country.
To be clear though, high grade sulphide deposits are infinitely more valuable than nickel produced via the laterite route or NPI.
