Most projects get delayed and timelines missed they need to be taken with a grain of salt. But you don't wait til the last minute to change course. Hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Either management didn't realise til it was to late (huge red flag) or they realised and decided not to pivot when they should have and made the same mistake over and over.

Why the 12 month target during covid? why not change the target when your dealing with inflation, worker shortages, govt delays etc? Why keep the target? A more conservative person would've asked what happens if this takes 2yrs instead of 12months? how do we stretch the $$$ to last that long in a worst case scenario?

Instead it was she will be right finance should be easy.
