Good announcement imo. TLG showcasing their ESG commitments while balancing any unnecessary cash burn.
The 2,500t ore mining campaign will net around 500t anode. The EVA plant, by memory, has around 200tpa Talnode-C production capacity. This will leave plenty to go around allowing TLG to tweak the process and have more ore up their sleeves for piloting Talnode-Si & Talnode-X.
There's no reason to mine and store excess ore at this stage. Rehabilitation of the site will garner brownie points with the locals and still leaves options to mine another 22,500t ore when it's required.
