I had a dream .....

Not so far into the future, emergency personnel and affected communities have greatly improved their survival plans for major fires, floods and destructive storms. Being able to reliably communicate with family, friends and authorities was at the centre of these plans. It was widely accepted based on experience that normal mobile phones cannot be relied on and that the inability to communicate was a major threat to life.

Emergency and Fire Authorities have recommended that those in Bush Fire Prone Areas and other areas with a history of communication outages during emergencies have access to a satellite communications device and plan. Zoleo has received the top reviews for this purpose due to its ruggedness, waterproof design, and long battery life. The authorities themselves have issued Beam's new Certus device released in 2022 to their field staff so that they can get up-to-date weather, fire, storm and flood information including videos and other key graphics.
