Did you get the impression that they said "not fair" rather than "unfair" because "not fair" makes it slightly easier to swallow the contradiction that followed?
They've effectively said "unfair but reasonable" which makes no sense. None. Not one bit. If the deal is unfair, it's unreasonable.
I wonder how long they searched for an "independent" opinion that would come to a conclusion acceptable to them hahaha. It's interesting what happens when you have to pay for someone to be "independent".
Good on them for letting us know that we're being ripped off though.
I guess either way the deal goes, she's still a bargain because:
- she's trading at a massive discount to the deal
- there's still a window for another offer
- even if the deal doesn't go through, we are worth more!
