with active water production it is safe to say that the gas is from desorption, fractures serve as conduits for the water and gas to flow.
Personally I know of only one CSG field that has a gas cap, ie gas in the fractures, those wells at the top of the structure produce very little water, primarily through coning or cusping, the gas production sort off drags the water into the well.
