Looks like some reasonably clever financial engineering going on.

Board knows the HY results are shite, and margin improvement is unlikely in the future. So take one massive whack with the $34M impairment of goodwill (100% of the goodwill in their accounts).

Future years will then have ZERO amortisation charge.

The AGM preso has amortisation at $3.8M, $3.2M and $2.8M for the next 3 years, instantly this becomes ZERO and the rest of this FY, and future FY's suddenly look millions of dollars better off with the same crap operating margin.
