Read up on chapters 7 & 10 ASX ruling - they would be very close to over the limit without shareholder approval. And I’m not aware that they qualify for exemptions.
To put it simply; the fat cats can’t buy or be entitled to too much stock as then the company loses its public entity quals. Otherwise the big boys keep buying...there has to be shareholder approval. No GM announced, so assume they’re working within the capacity of the ruling unless otherwise notified.
I’m not saying that’s where it’s at; but to clarify, IK will answer why.
