I believe that the big attraction is the franking credits available.
It is likely that once the big boys get plenty of shares at the low price the company will do what BHP did when they had excessive franking credits.
As a BHP shareholder in 2011 I sold 471 BHP shares for $0.28 and received $131.88, as BHP’s buyback. But at the same time I received a fully franked dividend of $40.57, total $19,108.47 plus the franking credit of $8,189.34.
BHP shares at that time were about $46.
471 shares were worth $21,666 but under the buy back and large fully franked div scheme they netted me $27,429.69.
