Would i take shares? If I had the inside running on information as to how far progressed finance/an off-take agreement was/surety of one or two new substantial shareholders who were being sought (European? I recall) & were willing to commit capital at at least the recent lows (which hasn't been the case) and was confident it was forthcoming then definitely- I'd be taking shares. Taking half seems a way to placate shareholders into demonstrating a partial commitment to keep them interested & on the hook for their Rights. Considering Brian's raw remuneration package and also a good cut of the 'corporate & admin' I'd think it was well worth keeping this breathing for longer.
I was asked if I'd take up some of the shortfall.....that's a firm 'no' considering I'm not backstopped by remuneration- Brian is. If he and the Board committed to taking up all their rights, I'd be there too. That unfortunately isn't the case.
