Many predictions of the amounts of Graphite needed in the future have appeared, both in this forum, and on the web. Of course, no one knows for sure, but unless a new type of battery that doesn't require Graphite takes over, then the future looks promising for Graphite, at this stage.
Whilst a lot of focus has been on how many batteries will be needed to supply new evs for the public, there are other battery demands that have not been given as much air space. New Zealand is building its first battery powered ferry. There are already plenty of them in operation worldwide. Each uses a huge array of batteries.
DiDi is the biggest ride sharing company based in China, and operates worldwide, including Australia. With over 1 million evs in its ride sharing stable, it is aiming for 10 million of them by 2028! These are staggering figures for just one company. When considering all of the other companies, businesses and car makers that use Graphite, the refractories, the steel making, the Graphite cladding, and the Graphene manufacture, the predicted demand for Graphite is huge.
As we know it today, the demand will be there, and VRC has the largest Graphite deposit in Tanzania! Hopefully it will soon be mining that Graphite to supply that ever-expanding market demand!
