    Bardoc Gold aircore results highlight North Kanowna Star as major exploration target

    Recent drilling has confirmed an extensive new gold trend with multiple target zones defined over a more than 3-kilometre strike length at North Kanowna Star.

    Bardoc Gold Ltd - Bardoc Gold aircore results highlight North Kanowna Star as major exploration target
    The prospect is emerging as an important exploration and growth opportunity for Bardoc.

    Bardoc Gold Ltd (ASX:BDC) (FRA:4SF) has intersected extensive zones of shallow gold mineralisation in wide-spaced aircore drilling at its North Kanowna Star Project (NKS), 29 kilometres southeast of the proposed mill and infrastructure of the Bardoc Gold Project, in Western Australia.

    Notable results from a 451 hole aircore program for 19,599 metres of drilling come from the newly-defined Serengeti Prospect.

    Intersections include:

    • 15 metres at 1.11 g/t gold from 52 metres; and
    • 7 metres at 1.95 g/t from 44 metres.

    These support previous results of:

    • 21 metres at 1.56 g/t from 36 metres;
    • 15 metres at 1.22 g/t from 68 metres;
    • 4 metres at 3.74 g/t from 40 metres; and
    • 4 metres at 3.59 g/t from 52 metres.

    Assay results are pending from a further 28 holes.

    “Systematically testing targets”

    Bardoc Gold chief executive officer Robert Ryan said the company had now defined numerous target areas across the North Kanowna Star Project which would be systematically tested over the coming months.

    He said: “The latest aircore assays from North Kanowna Star complete the current reconnaissance drilling program undertaken in late 2020.

    “The results have changed our perception about the scale and significance of the opportunity at NKS, which is clearly emerging as a very large mineralised system.

    “The drilling has defined multiple follow-up targets along a significant +3-kilometre mineralised trend, returning some exceptional results for this relatively early stage of reconnaissance exploration."

    Anomalism over 3.5 kilometres of strike, multiple targets require testing.

    Regionally relevant results

    The results have established anomalous gold over a strike length of around 3.7 kilometres, which the company believes is regionally significant considering the 1.7-million-ounce gold Aphrodite Deposit is contained within some 3.5 kilometres of strike of gold anomalism and the 526,000-ounce gold Zoroastrian Deposit is anomalous over 1.5 kilometres.

    Given the scale of the anomalism and the success of the recent exploration programs, Bardoc is confident that NKS warrants sustained and systematic long-term exploration to expand the known 32,000 ounces resource at the Perseverance-Wedge Deposit at depth and along strike - and to define potential new resource positions across the broader project area.

    “Drilling to define resource potential”

    Ryan said: “The North Kanowna Star program, together with drilling on the Bardoc Tectonic Zone, has been targeting new discoveries outside of our +3 million ounce resource.

    “We are aiming to make significant new discoveries with the potential to either increase mine life or potentially increase the scale of our proposed operations at the Bardoc Gold Project.”

    Four drill rigs are on-site at the Bardoc Tectonic Zone, targeting areas outside of existing resources at Aphrodite and North Kanowna Star to define the scale of the potential resource areas.

    “Organic growth and exploration”

    Ryan said: “With exploration in full swing, we now have two clear avenues for growing shareholder value at Bardoc.

    “One is through project development, with the definitive feasibility study now in its final stages and on track for completion in late March – paving the way for project funding and a Final Investment Decision.

    “The other is through organic growth and exploration – and we are now increasingly confident that we will be able to deliver significant exploration success, growth and excitement through the drill bit in the course of this year.”

    Future work plans

    A GAIP survey was conducted at NKS Star in 2020 and has proved vital in helping unlock the geology and structural interpretation of the project.

    Further geophysical testing is being assessed for completion over the coming months.

    Ongoing work includes:

    • Aircore drilling along the Bardoc Tectonic Zone;
    • RC drilling north-east of Aphrodite and at North Kanowna Star; and
    • Exploration diamond core drilling at Aphrodite targeting depth and strike extensions of the Sigma and newly interpreted structural positions.
