You can own but might not be able to use these extra port berths, this has no effect on AGOs current port berths at all. And the Govt has now raised the question can even MIN use these current and extra AGO port berths as they are not a "junior miner" either at a $3B MC and 4th largest producer.
Govt can change their minds like the wind, they already are giving AGO a big handup with royalty & port charges relief. They want to be at the table as well, to negotiate terms as they tried to sell Utah Point for $300M and got nowhere! They want the majors to negotiate a comprehensive deal with them and who has the best hand to do that? Cash strapped MIN or Hancock or cash laden large FMG?
