The point of these games is to influence/push a punter into making a decision that favours the one behind the games. I think of it as being like psychological warfare
They skew the buy/sell side in the direction which fits their agenda, in an effort to make punters perceive/believe something is happening/will happen/ did happen.
They bother to do this because it works.
As you saw yesterday, it got punters to sell at 3.7c, the person/people who bought those at 3.7c are already up 13.5% today.
