Agree with your sentiments. NGF still has $15 million to come from the coal sale ($5m in Feb 2012 and $10m the following year), so this will put a big dint in the remaining $50 m debt.
Looking forward to the quarterly later this week (or Monday at the latest). It should still show a sizable cash balance, and hopefully an increase in gold production and a decrease in cost per oz (given that last quarter there was a period of downtime for mill maintenance). You'd have to think that the Chinese investors have done their due dilligence and hence the premium paid.
Whilst NGF is a higher cost gold producer, they will stand to benefit greatly from any rise in the gold price which seasonally occurs from late August.
