Some of the comments are a bit perplexing. A number of commenters seem to either not be aware of (or ignore) that AMCI has been a core investor since 2010.
I suspect part of the move to increase their holdings is to explore what has been outlined above, but also may be to look at opportunities in the battery space. Mende and AMCI have just launched a fund focused on investment opportunities centered around the themes of sustainability, decarbonization and energy transition
