@next2us - I am not wanting to get involved with a HIO v MGT argument - both have their merits and their hurdles to get over.

However, I would like to clarify matters relating to HIO's access to Water. My recollection is that access to water was something that was addressed back in the Carpentaria days, possibly around 2014 or 2015. I also recall that the water source was not suitable for agricultural purposes which I assume would assist with allocation and permitting.

The following statement was included in the 2017 PFS:

"Water will be sourced from a deep saline aquifer located 90km to the south of the site. Extensive sampling, pumping test work and hydrogeological modelling has identified sufficient project water. The water is available for allocation under existing regulations. Water will be pumped to site and a reverse osmosis plant will enable a freshwater stream for concentrate washing and product transport."

Assuming HIO continue with the slurry pipeline to port, then that could also provide other water options.

Therefore, I do not think it is appropriate to say that HIO has not addressed and has no access to water. I acknowledge that further permitting may be required as part of a BFS, but there do not appear to be any hurdles to obtain such permits.
